FG Canvasses For Nigeria’s Soye As Miss World Contest Enters Final Hours

The Federal Government, through the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has called on Nigerians to support the country’s representative at the Miss World competition, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, popularly known as Soye, as voting enters its final hours at the ongoing 73rd Miss World Festival in Vietnam.

Musawa made the appeal in a post on her X handle on Friday, September 4, praising Soye for representing Nigeria on the international stage with “grace, confidence and purpose.”

The minister said Soye’s emergence as Africa’s Top Model and qualification for the Top 40 of the Miss World competition was a significant achievement for Nigeria.

“Dear Soye, seeing you carry Nigeria’s name with such grace, confidence and purpose on the Miss World stage has made us incredibly proud,” Musawa said.

She noted that beyond the competition, Soye had used the platform to promote Nigeria internationally and draw attention to issues of importance.

“Emerging as Africa’s Top Model and securing your place in the Top 40 is a remarkable achievement,” she said.

“But beyond the competition, you have used this platform to showcase Nigeria to the world, speak about issues that truly matter, and inspire so many young people.”

Musawa urged Nigerians to continue supporting Soye through the voting process, noting that only nine hours remained before the voting window closed.

“Nigerians continue to stand with you. There are just 9 hours left to vote, and the window is closing fast,” she said.

The minister stressed the importance of every vote and point to Soye’s progress in the competition, urging Nigerians to participate in the ongoing voting.

“Soye needs every vote and every point matters for the stages ahead,” Musawa said.
