Agege Launches Three-Month Catering, Chef Training Programme

The Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State has launched a three-month Catering and Chef Training Programme aimed at equipping residents with practical skills and promoting entrepreneurship and economic independence.

The initiative was announced on Saturday by the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, in a statement shared on his X handle.

Obasa said the programme was designed to provide participants with practical training in various aspects of the hospitality industry while also preparing them for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The programme is sponsored by the Lagoon Institute of Hospitality Studies.

According to the chairman, participants will receive training in cooking, baking, beverage making, hospitality and professional service.

The training will also cover entrepreneurship, employability and other industry-related skills.

Obasa said the initiative was part of efforts by the local government to create opportunities for residents to acquire skills that could translate into sustainable sources of income.

“Agege Local Government, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, is opening another pathway to skills, entrepreneurship and economic independence,” the statement said.

He urged residents with an interest in the hospitality industry to take advantage of the opportunity.

“If you have a passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn, this is your opportunity to turn that passion into a profession,” Obasa said.

The chairman said the programme would provide participants with practical knowledge and industry skills that could help them pursue careers or establish businesses in the hospitality sector.
