Adamawa Police Deploys Tight Security Ahead of Vice President’s Visit

The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed personnel and operational assets across Yola and other strategic locations ahead of the official visit of the Vice President of Nigeria to the state.

The Adamawa Police security deployment was ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, as part of measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free visit.

Adamawa Police deploy security personnel

The Adamawa State Police Command said the deployment includes personnel from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Intelligence Unit, Traffic Unit and various Divisional Police Officers.

According to the Command, security personnel have been positioned at critical locations across Yola and other areas considered strategic to the Vice President’s visit.

The Adamawa Police security deployment is intended to strengthen security around venues, routes and other locations associated with the official programme.

Police announce traffic diversions, stop-and-search

The police also announced that traffic diversions and stop-and-search operations would be conducted in and around Yola as part of measures to maintain security and facilitate smooth movement during the visit.

The Command urged residents and visitors to cooperate with security personnel and comply with lawful directives throughout the period.

Adamawa Police warn against disruption

Commissioner of Police Kabir Umar Hassan warned miscreants and other criminally minded individuals to stay away from venues and routes associated with the visit.

He said the Command would deal decisively with anyone attempting to breach the peace or disrupt the programme.

The police also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or movements to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines.

Police reassure Adamawa residents

Hassan reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property before, during and after the Vice President’s visit.

The Command said the security measures were part of its efforts to ensure that the visit takes place peacefully and without disruption.
