A man has cried out after he was allegedly robbed of his gold by a group of men shortly after leaving Millennium Park in Abuja.

According to him, he had gone to the park for a church picnic and was returning to his car when the incident occurred. He said he wound down his car window briefly to allow the hot air inside the vehicle to escape before turning on the air conditioner.

He alleged that some men approached his vehicle, appearing to ask for money, but suddenly grabbed his gold and fled.

The man said he drove after the suspects while some people also attempted to chase them. According to him, one of the people who got close to the suspects was stabbed before they escaped into a bush.

He further claimed that he pursued the suspects towards the area behind the Ministry of Justice and appealed to security personnel there to help chase them, offering to pay them, but they allegedly declined to intervene.

The man said he was sharing the experience to raise awareness, adding that he was concerned about the security situation in the nation’s capital.

His words …

“I have just been robbed… I went to Millennium Park for a church picnic. Coming out of the park, I entered my car. I wound down so that I can turn on the AC so the bad air can come out before I wound up. Some guys came close to me as if they were begging for money. Before I could say jack, they pulled out my gold.

“I had to drive one way and follow them. Some people chased them. The only person that got close to them, they stabbed the person. They stabbed him and followed inside the bush.

“I had to follow that Ministry of Justice, the backside I was seeing them. I told the security men there, ‘Let us chase after these guys. They just robbed me of my gold. I will pay you anything.’ Those guys refused; they were looking at me like, ‘What am I saying?’

“I’m not going to fault them. I’m just making this video to create awareness. Abuja is no longer safe.
