The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, CP A.M. Bello, has urged residents to use the Eid-ul-Maulud celebration to promote peace, tolerance and peaceful coexistence across the state.

Bello, in a goodwill message marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), felicitated Muslim faithful in Zamfara and beyond, urging them to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of peace, compassion, patience, justice and love for humanity.

The Commissioner said sustainable security, development and prosperity could only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and unity.

He called on parents, religious and community leaders and youths to promote peaceful living, responsible citizenship and mutual respect, while discouraging violence, criminality, hate speech and other activities capable of threatening the peace and security of the state.

Bello also urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for sustained peace, security and prosperity in Zamfara State and Nigeria, as well as seek Allah’s guidance and intervention in the affairs of the state and the country.

He assured residents of his prayers for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and blessings, and urged citizens to celebrate the occasion peacefully and responsibly in line with the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The Commissioner wished Muslim faithful a peaceful and blessed Eid-ul-Maulud celebration.
