Troops arrest suspected terrorist collaborator in Adamawa [PHOTO]

Nigerian troops of the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion, C Company, Mubi, Adamawa State, have arrested a 43-year-old suspected terrorist collaborator during a cordon-and-search operation in Mubi South Local Government Area.
Counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed the arrest in a post on X on Tuesday.
Makama noted that the operation was conducted on Sunday, August 9, 2026, in Girpata and Wurobululude communities in Mubi South, in collaboration with Keystone and local hunters.
Makama stated that the suspect, identified as Yahaya Adamu, was arrested by the troops in the Girpata area.
According to a military source, Adamu was taken into custody for further investigation to establish his alleged links and activities with terrorist elements.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to identify and disrupt terrorist support networks operating within communities in the North-East.
