Transfer: Scholes names Man United star angry over Santos, Tielemans, Baleba arrival

Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has said that Kobbie Mainoo is better than the midfielders the club brought in this summer.
He noted that although the Englishman was not outstanding last season, he is still the better option than the new midfielders.
Speaking on The Good, The Bad, The Football podcast, Scholes expressed doubts about Manchester United’s recent signings.
He pointed out that Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba do not measure up to Mainoo.
He said, “They’ve just spent 90 million on two midfield players, another 60, 70 million on another player. He[Mainoo] is better than all three of them.”
Scholes added that the midfielder’s quietness could be a potential issue. He recognised that while Mainoo was not at his best last season, he still made a significant impact towards the end of the season, stating:
“That might be his problem, you know. Yeah. I’m pretty sure he will be angry inside. And have we not learned this lesson from the first half of last season when he didn’t play, and they were terrible? I still don’t think he was amazing when he came in. But he’s better than what we’ve got.”
Manchester United spent £50 million to sign Andrey Santos and activated the £35 million release clause to bring in Tielemans from Aston Villa to bolster their midfield. They are also set to announce the signing of Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion.
