Osun election: ‘Corpers ran for their lives’ – Woman claims police teargassed voters [Video]

A woman has alleged that police officers fired tear gas at people at Modakeke Ward 10 in Ife East Local Government Area of Osun State, claiming that some corps members ran for their lives.
The allegation was made in a video circulating on social media on Saturday, August 15, 2026, as voting commenced in the Osun governorship election.
In the video, the woman questioned why a police officer would use tear gas at the location.
“Why would a police officer drop tear gas, they have gone with materials,” she said.
She identified the location as Modakeke Ward 10 and alleged that there was no fight or disruption before the alleged action.
“This is Modakeke Ward 10, come and see useless policemen. They came to throw tear gas at people, no fight, no disruption to warrant such action. The corpers all ran for their lives,” the woman said.
