IGP Disu to Launch NPF Vigilant App, MTN CUG Network September 1

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, will on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and the MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network in Abuja.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, August 24, saying the launch will take place at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the statement, the initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen technology-driven policing, improve communication and enhance operational efficiency.

The NPF Vigilant App is designed to improve engagement, information sharing and communication between the police and members of the public.

The MTN CUG Network, on the other hand, will provide a dedicated communication platform to facilitate seamless communication among personnel of the Force.

The police said the initiative reflects Disu’s commitment to deploying modern technology and strategic partnerships to improve policing and service delivery.

The Force said the launch “underscores the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to leveraging modern technology and strategic partnerships to enhance policing, strengthen internal coordination and improve service delivery to Nigerians.”

It added that the Nigeria Police Force remained committed to using technology, innovation and strategic partnerships to improve its operations and provide more responsive security services.

“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to harnessing technology, innovation and strategic partnerships to strengthen policing, enhance operational effectiveness and deliver more responsive, efficient and people-centred security services to Nigerians,” the statement said.

The launch is scheduled for September 1 at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Abuja.
