EPL: What Chelsea’s red card ruling means for Colwill’s next games

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill was fortunate not to receive a red card during his side’s 3-2 Premier League win over Fulham on Monday.
Colwill received only a yellow card, meaning he faces no suspension and remains fully available for Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures against Brighton and Arsenal.
The 23-year-old committed an early foul on Fulham’s Oscar Bobb during the encounter at Craven Cottage.
Fans argued that it was a red-card offence for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity.
Speaking on the development, former Premier League referee chief Keith Hackett insisted that Colwill was not fortunate to avoid a red card.
Hackett argued that the on-field decision was the correct one, insisting Chelsea had a covering defender.
“The covering defender influences my agreement,” Hackett said in response on social media.
“No red card, correct decision.”
