“They were not from the lord” — Benny Hinn apologises over inaccurate prophecies

Published

on

Prominent televangelist and prosperity gospel preacher Benny Hinn has drawn widespread attention after publicly admitting that some of the prophecies he delivered in the past were inaccurate and not from God.

The preacher made the remarks while reflecting on his ministry, acknowledging that he is not perfect and expressing regret over occasions when he believed God had spoken to him but later realised that was not the case.

His candid admission has sparked conversations among Christians and social media users, with many praising his willingness to acknowledge mistakes, while others have questioned the impact of inaccurate prophecies on followers.

Benny Hinn admits mistakes in ministry

Speaking on the issue, Benny Hinn said, “I’m a human being, I make mistakes. The thing I regret most there were some prophecies I gave that were not accurate or from the lord.”

He went on to explain that not every prophetic declaration he made came from divine revelation.

The preacher added, “There were times I thought God had shown me something and he wasn’t showing me and I spoke it out and I can’t go back to change it but i ask people to forgive me, I’m not perfect.”

Benny Hinn is widely recognised as one of the leading figures associated with the prosperity gospel movement, making his admission particularly significant within Christian circles.

Reactions trail Benny Hinn’s apology

The statement has generated mixed reactions online, with some describing it as a rare display of humility from a globally known preacher.

Others argued that the admission raises broader conversations about accountability in prophetic ministry and the responsibility religious leaders have when making public declarations.

The remarks continue to attract attention across social media as supporters and critics debate their significance and what they could mean for public trust in prophetic ministries.
