Portable Criticises Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide Over Song Messages
Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has sparked fresh reactions on social media after criticising some of Nigeria’s biggest Afrobeats stars over the themes of their music.
Speaking in a viral video, Portable claimed that Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Olamide focus more on songs about women than on inspirational or faith-based messages.
According to the singer, mainstream artistes should create more music that motivates listeners and encourages people to praise God.
His comments quickly generated widespread debate online, with many fans defending the artistes by pointing out songs in their catalogues that contain inspirational, reflective, or spiritual messages. Others, however, agreed that more motivational content would be welcome in today’s music industry.
Portable is known for making bold and controversial statements, and his latest remarks have once again placed him at the centre of conversations across social media.
