Pastor David Ibiyeomie Calls for Justice, Religious Freedom, and Responsible Leadership in Nigeria

The founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has called for justice, fairness, religious freedom, and responsible leadership in Nigeria, urging leaders to address the country’s pressing challenges while protecting the constitutional rights of all citizens.

Speaking on the state of the nation, Ibiyeomie questioned laws and policies that, in his view, appear to restrict Christians from openly expressing and preaching their faith while similar religious expressions are permitted. He stressed that Nigeria must remain a country where Christians and Muslims can coexist peacefully, practise their faith freely, and enjoy equal rights.

The cleric also expressed concern over the country’s security challenges, citing the killing of Christians in parts of Northern Nigeria, the loss of Nigerian lives beyond the country’s borders, and the economic hardship facing many citizens. He challenged political leaders to focus on addressing the real problems confronting Nigerians instead of enacting laws that do not reflect the urgent needs of the people or denying the realities they face daily.

Ibiyeomie emphasized that he is not interested in politics but would not remain silent when issues affect the Gospel of Jesus Christ, religious freedom, or the wellbeing of Nigerians. According to him, whenever policies, injustice, insecurity, or actions by those in authority threaten what is right, citizens must have the courage to speak out, regardless of who is involved.

He further lamented that some Christians occupying positions of influence have remained silent at a time when they should be speaking up for justice and righteousness.

Addressing what he described as signs of an agenda capable of undermining Nigeria’s religious balance, the cleric insisted that no religion should be imposed on another and that every Nigerian must be free to practise their faith without discrimination.

He concluded with a call on Nigerians not to remain silent in the face of wrongdoing, urging citizens to reject injustice, oppression, insecurity, religious discrimination, and every action capable of threatening the peace and unity of the nation.

According to Ibiyeomie, Nigeria belongs to all its citizens, who must continue to stand for truth, justice, peaceful coexistence, and the collective pursuit of a better nation.
