The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has sealed five hospitality establishments in Ikorodu over persistent environmental infractions.

The agency disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X handle on Tuesday.

LASEPA said the enforcement followed repeated warnings, abatement notices and opportunities given to the affected establishments to address the identified violations.

It said the exercise was in line with the Lagos State Government’s directive to enforce environmental laws and safeguard public health.

According to the agency, the establishments failed to comply with enforcement directives in spite of repeated engagements.

The affected facilities are Docklands Hotels, Royal Tree Hotel and Suite, Rivera Hotel, Medallion Hotel and Daval Spring Hotel.

LASEPA said the facilities are located in different parts of Ikorodu, including Ijede Road, Gberigbe Road, Aga and Owode-Ibeshe.

The agency’s General Manager, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public health through strict enforcement of environmental regulations.

Ajayi said compliance with environmental laws remained a collective responsibility of businesses, residents and other stakeholders.

He warned that the agency would intensify monitoring and enforcement against individuals and organisations whose activities threaten environmental sustainability.

Ajayi urged facility operators and residents to adopt responsible environmental practices and comply with all regulatory requirements.

He reiterated that LASEPA would continue enforcement against facilities that disregard Lagos State environmental laws.
