ASR Africa delegation pays courtesy visit to Chief of Army Staff, strengthens partnership

A delegation from the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa), led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ubon Udoh, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja. The visit aimed at reinforcing the partnership between ASR Africa and the Nigerian Army.
During the meeting, Dr. Udoh congratulated Lieutenant General Shaibu on his recent appointment as Chief of Army Staff while commiserating with him on the loss of his predecessor. He provided a project update on the ongoing project for the Nigerian Army, stating that the project has reached 85 percent completion rate. Under its Security Sector Support Grant, ASR Africa is constructing a 120-unit Corporal and Below Quarters for the Nigerian Army worth 2 billion naira.
In his speech, Dr Udoh conveyed the vision of the Chairman of ASR Africa, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, who believes that peace and social cohesion is requisite for National development. He added that his team is committed to the project completion with quality transparency and fiscal responsibility.
While making his remark, the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Shaibu expressed profound appreciation to ASR Africa and its Chairman, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, for the support given to the Nigerian Army. He acknowledged that this gesture has reawakened their commitment to do more for the country. He acknowledged the huge sacrifice being paid by the personnel of the Service and reiterated that ASR Africa has “set the pace” for other organizations to emulate. He therefore requested more support, especially in the rehabilitation of their fallen heroes.
The visit also in attendance, the team of specialists from ASR Africa as well as the Nigerian Army top management.
ASR Africa is the brainchild of African Industrialist, Philanthropist and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) was established in 2021 to provide sustainable, impact-based, homegrown solutions to developmental issues affecting Health, Education and Social Development within Africa.
