Nigerians have taken to social media to mock First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu with sarcastic appeals to patronise their newly established akara businesses, following her reported advice encouraging citizens to embrace small-scale enterprises.
The online satire, which has since gone viral, reflects growing frustration over the country’s economic hardship and rising cost of living.
In a post in Nigerian pidgin English that quickly attracted comments, a Facebook user identified as Asawanta wrote:
“First Lady of Nigeria, you said make we start akara business. We don’t start o. Five is ₦300 now. Na this one you want make I use buy the type of cars wey you dey drive? Abeg come buy.”
