The Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property through professional, intelligence-led, and community-oriented policing following the commissioning of a new Taraba State Police Command Headquarters Complex and B Division Yorro in Jalingo.
The facilities were officially inaugurated on June 24, 2026, on behalf of Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, by retired Commissioner of Police Cyril Agyole Abeh.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, Moorkwap Sebastian Dongshal, who represented the Inspector-General of Police, described the projects as a significant milestone in strengthening policing infrastructure and enhancing operational effectiveness in the state.
According to him, the new headquarters complex and divisional office will improve command administration, intelligence management, operational coordination, and rapid response to security challenges across Taraba state.
Dongshal also emphasized the need for proper maintenance of the facilities, urging officers to uphold professionalism, discipline, accountability, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.
Representing Governor Kefas, CP Cyril Agyole Abeh (Rtd) commended the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) for delivering the projects. He described the development as a major boost to security and socio-economic growth in the state and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting security agencies in maintaining peace and public safety.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Muhammad Sheidu, said the projects reflected the Fund’s determination to bridge infrastructure gaps within the Nigeria Police Force.
He noted that the Trust Fund remains committed to improving the welfare and operational efficiency of police personnel through sustained investments in infrastructure, equipment, and training.
