Fintiri Appoints Boss Mustapha to Northern Nigeria Security Trust
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has appointed former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, as the state’s representative on the Board of Trustees of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund.
The appointment, announced on Tuesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, is aimed at strengthening regional efforts to tackle insecurity and ensuring Adamawa State plays an active role in key security decisions affecting Northern Nigeria.
Governor Fintiri said the decision reflects his administration’s commitment to enhancing the region’s security architecture and safeguarding lives and property through effective collaboration.
The Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund, established by the Northern Governors’ Forum, is a regional initiative designed to complement the work of security agencies. The Fund supports intelligence sharing, provides operational logistics, promotes inter-state collaboration, and encourages community-based security initiatives across the 19 northern states.
Speaking on the appointment, Governor Fintiri described Boss Mustapha as a seasoned public servant whose experience and leadership qualities make him well suited for the role.
“His wealth of experience in public service, proven leadership capacity, and national stature make Boss Mustapha eminently qualified to effectively represent the interests of Adamawa State on this all-important Board,” the governor said.
Fintiri also expressed concern over the growing security challenges confronting the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria, citing the increasing incidents of banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and communal clashes. He noted that the establishment of the Trust Fund by the Northern Governors’ Forum was a proactive step toward restoring peace and improving security across the region.
Congratulating Mustapha on the appointment, the governor described it as recognition of his integrity, competence and dedication to national development.
He expressed confidence that the former SGF would leverage his vast experience to advance the objectives of the Trust Fund, strengthen cooperation among northern states and ensure Adamawa’s interests are effectively represented.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with federal and regional stakeholders to improve security and guarantee the safety and wellbeing of citizens across Adamawa State.
