Gunmen, on Sunday, kidnapped a Catholic Reverend Father, Christian Ike, alongside a parishioner, Ogbonnia Aneke in Anambra State.

The Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia in Anambra State disclosed this in a statement on Sunday soliciting prayers for their release.

The Church said Fr. Ike and Ogbonnia were kidnapped while returning from Mass in an outstation of St. Matthew’s Parish, Ajalli, Orumba North in Anambra state.

“Rev. Fr. Lawrence Nwankwo. Please pray for the release of Rev. Fr. Christian Ike and Mr Ogbonnia Aneke, who were kidnapped this morning around 9.45 a.m. as they were returning from Mass in an outstation of St. Matthew’s Parish, Ajalli, Orumba North, LGA.

“We implore the maternal intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help for their
release”.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has yet to react to the adduction as of the time of this report.

Recall that last month, a popular Catholic priest in the Onitsha Diocese of Anambra State, Reverend Father Basil Gbuzuo was abducted.
