Bauchi health agency boss, four children die in auto crash

The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA), Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan Duguri, and four of his children have died in a fatal motor accident at Yalwan Duguri in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.
The accident reportedly occurred on Saturday evening, according to a statement issued by the Bauchi State Government on Sunday.
The deceased’s children were identified as Hajara, Usman, Rukayya and Maryam, while another son, Suleiman, reportedly survived the crash.
Governor Bala Mohammed expressed sadness over the incident, describing the death of Duguri and his four children as a monumental loss to the state.
Mohammed described the deceased as a dedicated public servant who contributed to efforts to improve access to healthcare services, particularly for less privileged residents.
He said Duguri played an important role in advancing the state’s health contributory management system as the head of BASHCMA.
The governor also recalled his contributions to medical teams during pilgrimage exercises in Saudi Arabia, where he helped provide healthcare services to pilgrims.
Mohammed said the tragedy was particularly painful because the deceased was not only a valued public servant but also his close friend and classmate.
He prayed for the recovery of Suleiman and asked Allah to grant the deceased and his four children eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
The governor also urged residents to support the bereaved family with prayers and compassion during the period of mourning.
DAILY POST reports that the funeral prayer for the deceased is scheduled to hold at 11.am on Sunday, October 18, at the palace of the District Head of Yalwan Duguri.
