WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup: Flamingos maintain winning run with win over Burkina Faso
Nigeria’s Flamingos continued their impressive campaign at the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso in Yamoussoukro on Monday.
The Flamingos dominated possession from the start and applied sustained pressure, but the Burkinabè side defended resolutely to keep the scores level in the opening half.
Nigeria maintained the tempo after the restart, continuing to press for an opening as Burkina Faso remained disciplined at the back.
The pressure finally paid off eight minutes from full time when Mary Dunstan broke the deadlock to put the Flamingos ahead.
Oluwakemi Adegbuyi then sealed the victory in stoppage time, scoring Nigeria’s second goal to secure all three points.
The result means the Flamingos have now recorded three wins from three matches, collecting a perfect nine points in the competition.
