The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced an 80 per cent benchmark for underage candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The Board said underage candidates must attain the required 80 per cent threshold across their O’Level, Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Post-UTME results to qualify for consideration for admission.

JAMB urged prospective candidates and their parents or guardians to familiarise themselves with the requirements before embarking on the admission process.

“Are you an underage candidate seeking admission?

“There are specific requirements you must meet to be considered for admission. This includes achieving the required 80% threshold in your O’Level, UTME and Post-UTME results,” the Board said.

JAMB advised candidates to prepare adequately and stay informed about the admission guidelines for the 2026 admission exercise.
