UCL: ‘They’ll beat Arsenal in final’ – Shearer snubs PSG, names team to win trophy
Premier League legend, Alan Shearer, has picked Barcelona as the favourites to win the Champions League this season.
He predicted that Barcelona would beat Arsenal in the final to lift the trophy.
Barcelona got their new Champions League campaign off to an excellent start as they sealed a 5-1 win at home to Feyenoord on Wednesday night.
Arsenal, meanwhile, saw off Napoli with a 1-0 victory thanks to Martin Odegaard’s late goal.
Mikel Arteta’s side were beaten on penalties by Paris Saint-Germain in last season’s Champions League final and Shearer feels the Premier League champions will go close again this term.
Shearer said on The Rest Is Football, “Clearly it all depends on how the draw goes but I’m going to go to Barcelona to win it, beating Arsenal in the final.
“It would be unbelievable for them[PSG] to win it three times, winning it three on the spin, that’s why I’m going Barcelona.”
