Keyamo Receives ‘Minister Of The Decade’ Award At Daily Times Centenary Celebration

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has received the “Minister of the Decade” award as part of activities marking the centenary celebration of the Daily Times group in Nigeria.

Keyamo disclosed this in a post via his X handle on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

The minister said he received the award at an event organised to commemorate 100 years of the Daily Times group in Nigeria.

“Earlier today, I had the distinct honour of receiving the ‘Minister of the Decade’ Award at the Daily Times Centenary Celebration,” Keyamo said.

He said the award plaque was presented to him by the Obi of Onitsha, His Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe.

According to the minister, the traditional ruler was supported on stage by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ọjájá II, CFR, and former President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, CON.

“The award plaque was presented to me by His Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha. He was supported on stage by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ọjájá II, CFR and former President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, CON,” Keyamo said.

He added that the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Aviation and heads of aviation agencies were also present at the event.

“The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Aviation and all the heads of the Aviation Agencies attended the event and accompanied me to receive the award,” the minister said
