Kenya Police Recover 120 Smartphones, Laptops, Gas Cylinders In Makadara

Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has recovered 120 smartphones, 10 laptops, two tablets, 18 assorted gas cylinders and mobile phone spare parts during a raid in Makadara.

The DCI disclosed the recovery in a post on X, saying detectives from DCI Makadara acted on intelligence concerning suspected stolen electronic devices and other property.

According to the agency, detectives raided the residence of Julius Murengi Gacheru, where the assorted items were recovered.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and placed in custody as investigations commenced into the source and ownership of the recovered property.

The DCI said the recovered items were being processed as detectives worked to identify their rightful owners and establish how they came into the suspect’s possession.

“The recovered items are now being processed as detectives work to establish their rightful owners and piece together the circumstances under which they came into the suspect’s possession,” the agency said.

The DCI urged members of the public to provide information that could assist its investigations.
