The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated its candidates who won four of the five legislative bye-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on September 19, 2026.

The party said the results covered one federal constituency and four state constituencies across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states. INEC declared APC candidates winners in Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye, Dawakin Kudu, Udu and Disina, while the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) won the Sakwa constituency in Bauchi.

The victorious APC candidates are Hon. Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a of Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency, Gombe State; Hon. Husseini Datti of Dawakin Kudu State Constituency, Kano State; Hon. Okolosi Ator of Udu State Constituency, Delta State; and Hon. Yakubu Ali of Disina State Constituency, Bauchi State.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC described the results as evidence of the party’s organisational strength and grassroots support.

The party also linked the outcome to its preparations for the 2027 general elections, saying it had strengthened its resolve to campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates.

The APC thanked its members, leaders, stakeholders and campaign teams, particularly supporters in the four states, for participating in the elections.

It also urged the newly elected lawmakers to remain accessible and responsive to their constituents and to focus on effective representation and development.

The party commended INEC for conducting the bye-elections and security agencies for maintaining what it described as a peaceful and secure electoral environment.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, has said the September 19 bye-elections would provide operational lessons for the commission ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
