Nollywood actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has opened up about why religious differences did not stand in the way of his marriage to fellow actress Mo Bimpe. Speaking during an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, the actor shared how he once vowed never to marry someone in the entertainment industry, only for life to take a different turn.

The award-winning actor explained that despite being a Muslim while his wife is a Christian, he chose to focus on finding peace and happiness rather than allowing religious differences to determine his choice of a life partner.

He also disclosed that Mo Bimpe initially had reservations about their relationship, but his decision to meet her father helped move things forward, eventually leading to their marriage.

Lateef addresses religion and AI rumours

Lateef Adedimeji said, “I promised never to marry someone from my industry, but God had better plans. I am a Muslim, she’s a Christian. It didn’t matter to me because the most important thing before religion is my peace. She had her concerns, but I told her to let me meet her father, and the rest is history”.

The actor also dismissed speculation surrounding photos of children frequently linked to him and his wife on social media.

According to him, the images are not those of their triplets but were generated using artificial intelligence, adding that they would reveal their children’s faces when they consider the time right.

Lateef said, “Also, those children you are seeing with us on social media are not the faces of our triplets because it’s AI. When we are ready, we will reveal their faces”.

Couple’s love story continues to attract attention

The revelation has sparked fresh conversations among fans, many of whom praised the couple for looking beyond religious differences in building their relationship.

The interview also revived interest in their love story, which the actor had previously described as unexpected after both initially ruled out marrying colleagues in the movie industry.
