A lady has shared an emotional bus encounter that has sparked conversations online after a stranger’s heartfelt confession changed her mind about who should receive her ₦200 change.

According to the woman, she boarded a commercial bus where the driver owed five passengers ₦200 each in change. Upon reaching their destination, the passengers, including an elderly man, got down to collect the outstanding balance from the driver.

The lady explained that she was already running late and initially considered asking the driver to give her own ₦200 to the elderly man so he would receive ₦400 instead.

Passenger’s confession changes lady’s decision

The woman said, “The bus I entered this morning, the driver was owing 5 of us ₦200 change each. An old man was part of us. As we got to the bus stop, the five of us came down to look for change. I was already running late, so in my head, I wanted to say they should give the old man my own ₦200 so he could have ₦400. Just as I was about to say it, the old man said, “So all of una no fit leave this money for me?”

Story sparks reactions online

The story has resonated with many social media users, with several saying it highlights the hidden financial struggles many Nigerians face despite outward appearances.

Others praised the lady for choosing to help the younger passenger, while some argued that the incident also serves as a reminder not to judge people’s circumstances based on age or appearance alone.
