“I used to smoke cigarettes” – Toyin Abraham opens up, recalls husband’s warning that made her quit
Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has warmed hearts after speaking about her marriage to fellow actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, describing him as the best thing that has ever happened to her.
Speaking during a recent appearance on TheMorayoShow, the movie star revealed that her husband never tried to change her by force but instead gave her the freedom to make better choices, including quitting cigarette smoking after she became pregnant.

“My husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi, is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He let me be me. I used to smoke cigarettes before, but now I don’t anymore. Now I just smoke vape once in a while, but I stopped cigarette.”
Toyin explained that while she was expecting their child, her husband reminded her that she could no longer continue smoking because of the pregnancy.

She added that after giving birth, she once smoked in his presence, but rather than scold her, he gave her a warning that completely changed her perspective.
“My husband told me something when I got pregnant. He said, ‘I hope you know you can’t smoke anymore.’ When I gave birth, we went out, I smoked, he saw me and didn’t say anything.
He just said, ‘I’m not stopping you from smoking or drinking alcohol, but any day I see it in the hand of my child, that will be the end of that marriage,’” she added.
Toyin Abraham and Kolawole Ajeyemi got married in a private ceremony in 2019 and welcomed their son, Iremide, later that year.
Her revelation has since sparked admiration from fans, with many praising the actor’s calm approach to encouraging positive change and describing the couple as an example of understanding and mutual respect in marriage.
