“Don’t allow your husband to serve himself soup” — Woman advises women
A woman has sparked laughter and widespread reactions on social media after sharing a lighthearted piece of marriage advice based on her personal experience with her husband’s eating habits.
In a post that has resonated with many married women, she jokingly advised wives never to allow their husbands to serve themselves soup, claiming it often leads to a significant reduction in both the soup and the meat in the pot.
“Ladies, let me give you free marriage advice,” she began. “On no account should you allow your husband to serve himself soup. I am speaking from experience.”
According to her, whenever she prepares one of her husband’s favourite soups or meals, she makes it a point to serve him herself to ensure the food lasts.
She explained that on occasions when she is too tired and falls asleep before serving him, the outcome is usually the same.
“Any day I cook a soup or one of those meals my husband really likes, I make sure I am the one serving it. Because if I mistakenly fall asleep from being tired and this man serves himself… May God help the pot. By the time I wake up, the soup level has reduced by half.”
The woman humorously added that the meat is usually the biggest casualty.
“And don’t even ask about the meat. The chicken, beef, goat meat, assorted… everything has mysteriously disappeared. What’s left is rich, nutritious soup for me to admire.”
She also joked that despite the obvious evidence, her husband always insists he did not eat much.
“The funniest part is that he will confidently tell me, ‘I didn’t even eat that much.’ Sir… The evidence is inside the empty pot.”
Concluding her post on a humorous note, she appealed to other married women to share their experiences.
“Please tell me I am not the only wife living with a professional protein hunter.”
