“You’re turning a blind eye because he’s the President” – VDM blasts Pastor Adeboye over Tinubu insecurity defence
Social media activist VeryDarkMan has reacted to Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s recent comments defending President Bola Tinubu over the country’s worsening insecurity, accusing the cleric of changing his stance because Tinubu is now in office.
His reaction followed Pastor Adeboye’s statement that the President had done his part by giving directives to security agencies and should not be expected to “put on khaki and fight” criminals himself.

Although the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God admitted that insecurity had worsened, he disclosed that he advised Tinubu to give military chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to end terrorism or resign.
Reacting in a video, VeryDarkMan questioned Adeboye’s position, recalling that the cleric had publicly criticised insecurity under previous administrations.

“Pastor Enoch Adeboye just wants to turn a blind eye because Tinubu is the President. Weren’t you the one in this video protesting years ago with a placard? This is just tribal bigotry,” he said.
The activist argued that leadership goes beyond issuing directives, insisting that those in authority must ensure their instructions are implemented effectively.
Drawing an analogy with parenting, he said a father who gives instructions to his children must hold them accountable if they fail to carry them out.
“As a father, if you give your children instructions to do something and later find out they didn’t do it properly, you either correct them or remove them immediately,” he added.
The exchange has sparked mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing with VeryDarkMan’s criticism, while others defended Pastor Adeboye, arguing that he was only explaining the constitutional responsibilities of the President as Commander-in-Chief.
