A woman has shared a lighthearted account of how her husband unexpectedly returned home despite informing her earlier that he would be spending the night away with friends ahead of a wedding.

The woman said her husband called to inform her that he was standing at the gate.
After opening the gate for him, she said the first thing he told her revealed the reason for his sudden return.

“My phone rang by 10:30pm and my husband said he was at the gate. I went to open the gate and the minute he entered, first thing he said was ‘your husband is hungry’.”
She explained that her husband later told her the gathering had plenty of drinks but little or no food, prompting him to leave and head home.
A wife who knew better
The woman said she jokingly reminded him that he was not expected home that night and suggested he would have to go hungry.
To his surprise, however, a meal had already been set aside for him on the dining table.
She said her husband was shocked to discover she had prepared food for him despite his earlier plans to stay away.
