Yahaya Bello Will End Up In Prison – Austin Okai
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Austin Okai, has stated that the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, will eventually end up in jail.
NEWSNGR reports that Bello is currently facing trial for alleged ₦110.4 billion fraud brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
On Tuesday, a Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, dismissed an application filed by the ex-governor challenging the court’s jurisdiction to entertain the case.
Reacting to the development in a social media post, Okai said nothing would stop the former politician from going to jail.
He urged Kogi politicians to identify with the ADC, insinuating an end to alleged rigging by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He wrote, “Yahaya Bello is going to prison; it’s an obvious fact that he can’t escape it. Every wise politician in Kogi State should start identifying with the ADC now.
“APC rigging machines will not be able to function from Kuje.”
Meanwhile, Bello, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Kogi Central ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Those who contested against the former governor were the APC Diaspora Secretary, Momoh Obaro, and Ibrahim Yakubu Adoke.
Bello’s emergence followed days of political tension and speculation within party circles over whether he would be cleared to participate in the contest.
The embattled former governor was said to have defeated Obaro and Adoke to secure the APC ticket for the Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The contest had attracted attention because of Bello’s political influence in Kogi State and the controversy that surrounded his screening before the primary.
