Why Peter Obi responds the way he does during interviews — Pastor shares view

A pastor has sparked discussion online after sharing his views on the interview style of Peter Obi.

Speaking during a sermon, the cleric argued that Obi’s responses to certain political questions are often misunderstood by members of the public.

According to the pastor, many critics have pointed to some of Obi’s interview appearances as evidence that he lacks the qualities required to lead the country.

However, he insisted that the former Anambra State governor is being deliberate in the way he communicates.

Pastor explains his interpretation

While addressing members of his congregation, the pastor said he arrived at his conclusion after reflecting on Obi’s public engagements and political messaging.

Explaining his position, he stated:

If you watch his interviews, what Peter Obi will be doing is that when you interview him, he always gives what seems like a nonsense answer. He gives nonsense answers to the point that, if you look at him, everybody is now saying, ‘This man cannot be the president.’ You know, it was when I was meditating here that the Holy Spirit made me understand that he knows exactly what he’s doing. Peter Obi is intentional about his campaign.”

Comments on policy positions

The pastor further argued that Obi’s positions on some national issues may not be significantly different from those of the current administration.

Can I tell you the truth? He doesn’t have a different manifesto from the current president. This is the reason why, when he’s asked questions many times about subsidy, he gives you what appears to be a nonsense answer.”

The remarks have generated reactions across social media, with supporters and critics of Obi offering differing interpretations of the pastor’s comments.

The discussion has also renewed debate about political communication, public perception, and the role of interviews in shaping opinions about political leaders.
