US to Deport Nigerian Man Over Alleged Visa Violations, Criminal Offences

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced plans to deport a Nigerian national, Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, following allegations that he overstayed his student visa and accumulated a criminal record while residing in the country.

In a statement posted on its official X account on Monday night, ICE alleged that Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa but remained in the country after discontinuing his studies, contrary to the conditions of his immigration status.

The agency claimed that Ajayi subsequently became involved in a series of criminal offences during his stay in the US.

ICE stated, “Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, of Nigeria, entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa and eventually left school, but failed to leave the country.

“Instead, he stayed in the U.S. and got to work on a lengthy rap sheet that includes convictions such as: Domestic violence, Trespassing, Intimidation, and Obstruction.

“His criminal history also includes these egregious charges: Kidnapping, Rape, and Family neglect.

“Thanks to POTUS’ commitment to getting criminal illegal aliens out of this country, Ajayi will be leaving the United States shortly.”

According to the agency, the planned deportation is part of a broader immigration enforcement campaign targeting undocumented immigrants with criminal histories.

ICE described Ajayi as a “criminal illegal alien” and said arrangements were being made for his removal from the country.

The agency further alleged that Ajayi had been linked to multiple criminal cases, including rape, kidnapping, domestic violence and intimidation.

However, ICE did not immediately provide details of the jurisdictions where the alleged offences occurred, nor did it clarify the legal status or outcome of the rape and kidnapping allegations referenced in its statement.
