Operation Kosaye: Police Hunt Kidnappers in Lagos, Ogun Forests

The Nigeria Police Force has launched a major security operation, codenamed Operation Kosaye, aimed at flushing out kidnappers, armed robbers, and other criminal elements hiding in forests and border communities across Lagos and Ogun states.
The joint operation, carried out by security operatives from both states, has so far led to the arrest of 88 suspects, the rescue of five kidnapped victims, and the neutralisation of four suspected kidnappers during separate encounters with security personnel. Several firearms, ammunition, and other dangerous weapons were also recovered during the raids.
According to the Commissioners of Police for Lagos and Ogun states, the operation targets criminal hideouts along key forest corridors and border communities that have long been used as safe havens by kidnappers and armed gangs.
Police authorities said the initiative, named “Kosaye,” a Yoruba expression meaning “there is no hiding place,” reflects the determination of security agencies to deny criminals any sanctuary within the two states.
The force assured residents that the operation will continue until all identified criminal camps are dismantled, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could aid ongoing efforts to combat crime.
