National Sports Commission – The Trumpet Newspaper Nigeria
The National Sports Commission (NSC) has approved a 60 per cent increase in the monthly salary of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, raising his earnings from $50,000 to $80,000 following a revised contract agreement, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The updated terms were reached after discussions between the NSC and the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the support structure around Nigeria’s national teams.
Chelle, who was recently appointed as head coach of the Nigeria U-23 national team in addition to his role with the Super Eagles, is reported to have expressed satisfaction with the improved contract package.
Speaking after the agreement was finalised, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, confirmed that both parties had reached a consensus on an enhanced remuneration and welfare structure for the coach.

A senior NSC official also disclosed that the coach will now earn $80,000 monthly, representing a significant increase from his previous $50,000 salary.
The revised contract is part of broader reforms by the NSC and the NFF aimed at improving working conditions for the Super Eagles technical crew as Nigeria prepares for upcoming international competitions.
