Mark, Aregbesola Knock APC, Predict ADC Victory In Ekiti
Former Senate President and National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, and former Osun State Governor and National Secretary of the party, Rauf Aregbesola, have criticised the performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Ekiti State.
NEWSNGR reports that the ADC leaders also expressed confidence that the party would win the June 20 off-cycle governorship election in the state.
They spoke on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti during a mega rally organised to mobilise support for the party’s governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide.
Thousands of supporters attended the rally as the party intensified its campaign ahead of the poll.
Addressing supporters, Mark urged residents of Ekiti State to vote for the ADC, describing the party as a credible alternative to the ruling APC.
He said the ADC had the capacity to address the economic challenges facing the people and rescue the state from hardship.
According to him, the ruling party had failed to deliver meaningful benefits to citizens.
Mark said the ADC was committed to “rescuing Ekiti from poverty” and giving the people a government that would prioritise their welfare.
Aregbesola Faults APC Confidence
Also speaking, Aregbesola dismissed claims that the ADC lacked the political structure to challenge the APC in the election.
The former Osun governor said the true strength of any political party would be determined at the polls, not by claims of dominance.
He warned the APC not to underestimate the opposition, saying assumptions about political control could prove misleading during the election.
“If truly they want to go to the poll without writing results, they can never win that election,” Aregbesola said.
He insisted that the ADC would prevail if the election were conducted freely and fairly.
The rally formed part of the ADC’s intensified campaign activities ahead of the Ekiti governorship election.
The ADC leaders urged residents to reject the ruling party and support Bejide, whom they described as capable of providing better leadership for Ekiti State.
