A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing the unexpected moment her husband realised she was the woman he wanted to marry.
The woman, identified as Christy on Facebook, narrated how a simple outing years ago ended up becoming one of the reasons her husband chose her.
Wife Recalls Conversation After Marriage
She revealed the memory came up after they got married when she asked her husband what made him choose her over other women.
Expecting romantic response, she said she was surprised by one particular answer.
How A Movie Date Changed Everything
She recalled that during their courtship, her husband took her to Silverbird in Port Harcourt to see a movie.
Upon arriving, they reportedly asked for popcorn and were told it cost ₦800.
The woman said she immediately questioned the price and suggested they leave instead.
“Let’s Buy Ingredients For Egusi Soup”
According to her, she told him the money would be better spent on food items.
In her words:
“I remember after I got married, one day I asked my husband:
“Please, be honest, what made you choose me?” Among all the things he listed, there was this one that nearly made me faint.
He reminded me of the day he took me to Silverbird in Port Harcourt for movie seeing, When we got there we first asked for popcorn, and they said it was N800.
Then I shouted:
“₩800 for popcorn?!” This was as far back as 2010
I turned to him and said:
“Please Honey, let’s go home, I will stop at railway market to buy things for egusi soup with that N800” .
And that was how a supposed date night turned to soup cooking night
According to my husband, that was the exact moment he said to himself
“I’ve seen my wife.”
