Bola Tinubu 1

President Bola Tinubu has made changes in the leadership of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA) and the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA).

While Chukwuemeka Woke was initially appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of OORBDA, President Tinubu has reappointed him as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NOSDRA.

Woke, an engineer and environmental specialist, previously served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, when he was governor of Rivers State.

The President has also approved the appointment of Dr Adedeji Ashiru as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the OORBDA, the position previously held by Woke.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed the changes in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

Ngelale stated that Woke holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering and had previously served in various capacities at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), including in the Environmental, Safety, and Operations Departments. Woke was also the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and served as Chief of Staff in the Government House, Port Harcourt, for many years.

The new OORBDA MD, Ashiru, holds a Doctorate in Engineering from the Commonwealth University, UK, and has led a consortium of blue-chip companies.

“The President expects the new Chief Executive Officers to deploy their competencies to these critical agencies for sustainable gains and turnaround, while maintaining utmost transparency in their operations,” Ngelale stated.
