What Happened To Samantha Mason After My 600-Lb Life Season 9

My 600-lb Life season 9 viewers were given a sneak peek into Samantha Mason’s life in December 2020 when she appeared on the popular series. It didn’t take much time for Samantha to pique viewers’ interest. She weighed well over 800 lbs and was dangerously close to losing her life because of her weight gain. Before joining My 600-lb Life season 9 Samatha’s career contributed to her excessive weight gain. To make a living, Samantha was getting paid to eat food on camera while in her apartment.

Samatha chose this as a career path because she had limited options when it came to finding a job due to her size. She decided to give in and start fetish modeling, which included eating on camera, for a website that catered to people who like larger women. Her new career path caused Samantha’s weight to skyrocket to 800 lbs, which isn’t safe for anyone, man or woman. Samantha had to make a change, which is why she sought out help from Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, AKA Dr. Now, on My 600-lb Life.

In a TikTok video from November 2022, Samantha spoke about a woman who said women over 300 pounds aren’t attractive. Samantha was upset about it, which is normal, and discussed how she shouldn’t be surprised since she’s dealt with this most of her life. The woman in question is not revealed, but after this, Samantha continued on this topic and even discussed how My 600-lb Life mistreated her during her time on the show. She claims her experience on the show did nothing for her weight-loss journey.

She’s been very vocal about My 600-lb Life calling the show “the ‘let’s exploit the fat people and laugh at them publicly’ show.” Samantha said My 600-lb Life hindered her weight-loss journey and even accused the creators and producers of mistreatment and disingenuous motives. In one of Samantha’s other TikTok videos from April 2022, the former reality star said producers and other behind-the-scenes people knew how to push her buttons, which caused her to act like a “bitch.” Samantha believes they transformed her into someone she wasn’t just for drama.

In another video, Samatha talks about joining a TikTok Live of another My 600-lb Life alum named Steven, presumable Steven Assanti. She recalled a scene of when he fell off a golf cart which she didn’t like. Samantha believes she and the rest of her My 600-lb Life alums were just “puppets” for entertainment. Despite her outcries, Samantha’s negativity toward the show hasn’t received much positive feedback. She has since been ridiculed by fans online, who believed she joined the show to invite viewer criticism.

Samantha didn’t think My 600-Lb Life was as horrible as it was when she signed up, and she feared for her life while filming the docuseries reality show. Regardless, without the help of Dr. Now, and the team over at My 600-lb Life, Samantha was still able to lose around 320 pounds. She attributes most of her success to getting weight-loss surgery, which she got later on. Since then, Samantha’s recovery was slow, and she did her best to return to her normal self.

As part of her recovery process, Samantha entered rehab, saying, “I’m taking advantage of everything that I possibly can in here while I’m trying to heal.” Since getting her weight-loss surgery, Samantha has been able to live a more normal lifestyle. On her TikTok page, Samantha looks a lot slimmer than she did in My 600-lb life, so it looks like her surgery paid off.

Now that My 600-lb Life is behind her, Samantha has put her efforts to posting regularly on TikTok. At this point, Samantha could even be an influencer if she wanted to. In one really sweet video that Samantha shared in March, she talks about sorting through the pictures on the phone when she came across a few of her surgeon, who did her weight-loss surgery back in 2020. One photo was right before the surgery and the other was her at a rehab facility where she had to gain strength and learn how to eat again.

Samantha reveals the second photo was only taken because her doctor took time out of his day to visit her. The day was July 4, a holiday, which made Samantha very emotional. She felt grateful for his help, which she seemingly didn’t receive from Dr. Now. Other than talking about her weight-loss journey, Samantha is also promoting her daughter on the app.

Samantha’s daughter, who goes by the name Bella on TikTok, enjoys doing makeup. Many of her videos show her with very elaborate and well-done makeup. In a TikTok video from early April, Samantha asked her followers to watch her daughter TikTok live, where she was doing her makeup. Her daughter wants a new car for school and Samantha is hoping her followers will help her out by donating. Since My 600-lb Life, Samantha’s life has seemingly changed for the better.

While it’s unclear how much weight the My 600-lb Life alum has continued to lose, her face and neck look significantly thinner in her TikTok videos. She has also found other things to redirect her attention to besides food. Samantha’s now into coloring books and uses them as a creative outlet while striving to live healthier. Hopefully, she can continue on her journey.
