The final April Connections is here and today’s word groupings shouldn’t be too hard to solve. There are a few misdirections thrown into the mix today, but overall they will be easy to sus out. There is always a chance of getting stuck on an incorrect category, but if you make smart choices it should be a quick win.
In fact, one of the most important tips for playing the game of Connections is to take your time. There is no benefit in trying to quickly score the answers as time is not a factor. Double and triple-check all your choices before hitting submit so as not to waste your attempts.
Before we jump right into spoiling today’s Connections answers, we wanted to provide a few hints in the form of the daily categories. Sometimes just knowing what’s expected can help you solve the answers on your own.
There are no better foods in the world than sauces. Taking any random dipper and slathering it in your favorite condiment is the single greatest pleasure one can achieve. AIOLI and MARINARA were the first two words we saw in this delicious category and the others didn’t take much longer to connect.
We did end up wasting one attempt right off the bat though trying to make CATTLE, RANCH, GRILL, and BARBECUE work, but that was quickly cast aside once we caught ourselves trying to guess after it showed we failed.
The green category was our third to score today and once we were down to just eight words it was pretty obvious the connection. QUESTION and EXAMINE were the starting points but with only the purple words mixed in with these, the others stood out easily.
Blue was our second score for the day and after we nailed it all we could do for the rest of the game was think about that old Schoolhouse Rock song “I’m Just A Bill”. To be fair, the BILL in the song has nothing to do with the type of BILL used in today’s category, but it’s just so darn catchy.
Does anyone else remember watching these cartoons in school? Is this dating me? Am I the GIF of Matt Damon quickly morphing into Harrison Young at the end of Saving Private Ryan? Either way, fun song.
Purple, as usual, had our leftover words for the day and no matter how much we pretend, there was no way we saw this combination coming. It is quite a clever category though and helped push a few misdirections with the other words. Another game of Connections down, and another win in the books.
