The fourth episode of season three of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime saw Rimuru holding a meeting to decide the next course of action for Tempest, as well as the reveal of a powerful new magical device in the monster kingdom’s arsenal. New episodes of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime‘s are debuting on Crunchyroll on the same day that they air in Japan. Thus, season 3, episode 5 will debut on May 3, 2024, at 8:30 AM Pacific Time (11:30 AM Eastern). These releases will be in Japanese with English subtitles, due to the short time between Japan’s release and international release. The English dub of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 3 is also currently airing, with the third dubbed episode set to release on May 3, 2024 as well. That leaves the dub only two episodes behind the subbed version.
Episode 4 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 3 continued with Rimuru’s meeting with his most trusted allies, as they attempted to decide what their next move should be. One of the key pieces of information revealed was a device that can condense magicules and use them to power spells indefinitely, similar to the runes already seen in use throughout the series. The device is said to be capable of generating an anti-magic field, which they’re hoping to use to repel monsters from attacking those traveling the roads to Tempest.
The disappearance of Reyhiem, the fallen priest of the Western Holy Church, also came to Rimuru’s attention. Rimuru had entrusted the old priest to deliver a message to Lubelius, but it soon became apparent that the message he was seen delivering in the previous episode was not the one that Rimuru had sent; someone must have interfered with Reyhiem’s task and changed the message into an aggressive one, prompting the Ten Great Saints to gather together and determine their response.
The typically vague next episode preview this week gave the title of the next episode as “A Meeting of Both Sides,” suggesting that Tempest and Lubelius are to have some sort of interaction. Looking at the manga, it seems likely that this will be Hinata coming out to meet RImuru alone, as the false message requested that she do. This would presumably be after she has her own meeting with the Ten Great Saints, who were finally gathered at the tail end of episode 4. Also in the cards seems to be a meeting between Rimuru and Adalmann, a skeletal being who once worked for Clayman and has experience with the Church.
With a title like “A Meeting of Both Sides,” it seems the peaceful days of episode 3 will soon be behind them, as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime‘s third season continues.
