Gunmen abduct father, son in Ondo

Some gunmen have reportedly abducted a man, Maliki Onose and his son, Jethro along Benin-Owo road in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State on Monday.

Though details of the incident are sketchy at the time of filing this report, it was gathered that the victims were travelling along the road when the hoodlums waylaid them and dragged them into the bush.

The son is said to be a student of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Imeri in the council area and was returning to school when they were kidnapped.

A resident of the community privy to the incident who craved anonymity said, “The man (Maliki ) was travelling to Imeri to drop his son who is to resume, at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Imeri after the three weeks holiday when the bandits waylaid them on the road and whisked them away to an unknown destination.”

The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the incident.

Odunlami said efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims

The PPRO said, “We currently working with the navy to ensure that the victims are rescued from the den of the kidnappers and get the perpetrators arrested.”
