Doubling Down With The Derricos Season 5: Latest News, Cast, Trailer, & Everything We Know

Doubling Down With The Derricos season 5 is coming back this May. The series follows longtime partners Karen and Deon Derrico as they raisetheir 14 children, which debuted in 2020. Life with 14 children and four sets of naturally conceived multiples has been adventurous for the Derricos. Doubling Down With The Derricos season 4 began with the joyful arrival of another set of twins. The season also addressed the older siblings’ experience of navigating high school, adolescence, and crushes amidst all the chaos, reflecting on life’s true meaning in the Derrico household.

At the same time, the family started looking for a new house. With the kids getting bigger and the house becoming smaller, Deon’s OCD was getting too much. During Doubling Down With The Derricos season 4 finale, the family celebrated Thanksgiving, and viewers saw GG, Deon’s mother, prepare for her last round of chemotherapy. With such heartfelt and relatable storylines, Doubling Down With The Derricos season 5 is finally here.

The Derrico’s search for a new house has forever been a tough process. In Doubling Down With The Derricos season 5, the search puts a strain on Karen’s and Deon’s marriage. GG’s health issues continue as she faces cancer head-on and tries to see which treatment plan works out for her.

The viewers will also learn what secret Deon is hiding and walk through GG’s decision-making process on whether she needs chemotherapy treatment. She acknowledged that the chemo has gotten her to that phase in life but is unsure whether to continue. Later, GG informs the family of her decision to stop the treatment, which leaves them heartbroken, with Deon noting stopping is a horrible idea.

Doubling Down With The Derricos season 5 premieres on May 14, one week after OutDaughtered season 10 debuts. Reality fans will have the time of their lives with the super-sized families back on the screens. Karen recently celebrated her forty-fourth birthday by sharing a video montage of her looking stylish in a brown hat, cream sweater, and blue jeans with the caption, “Thank you, Jesus, for allowing me to see Year 44” (via Karen Derrico).

The parents, Deon and Karen, are entering into a new and challenging phase of their parenthood. Their eldest daughter, Darian, is prepping for college, and at the same time, their house is teeming with teenage boy energy. The Derrico’s 13-year-old Derrick and 12-year-old twins, Dallas and Denver, are growing up. The infamous Derricos quintuplets Deonee, Daician, Daiten, Deniko, and Dariz are also not left behind. Notably, the six-year-olds Diez and Dior are now troublesome first graders. Also, the Derrico’s four-year-old triplets, Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver, have become a sassy and talkative trio.

Doubling Down With The Derricos Season 5 trailer shows some of the tough decisions the Dericos will have to make throughout the show, including moving into a new house. Darian Derico has applied for a program at NYU for singing and performing. She lets her dad know her mom seems more excited than she is.

Deon and Karen argue about that, with Deon noting that he wants their daughter to “live her own damn life.” In one of the episodes, the Derrico fanbase will watch as the family takes to the mountains. Here, disaster strikes when Karen faces a medical emergency. Before this medical crisis, Karen said that the walls were closing in and felt overwhelmed (via TLC). The experience forces the Derrico family to remember what is important and what they value.

It shows that through it all, the Derricos will face whatever comes their way as a family, doubling down on the fun and all the love it takes to be an exceptional family. Over the years, the family has faced a couple of challenges, including meddling in-laws, Karen miscarriages, and health challenges. One of the major points of contention in season 3 was whether the Derricos would move to South Carolina to be close to Karen’s family. Maybe that will play out in Doubling Down With The Derricos season 5.
