Friday is here and it’s time for the newest collection of Connections. Another fantastic mix of categories in today’s game and, for us anyway, a nice and easy win. But not everyone has the same tastes we do so if you’re having trouble with today’s game, perhaps the hints and spoilers below can keep your win-streak intact.
Ever since the popularity of Wordle in 2022, the one-a-day games have blown up. There seems to be a browser-based game for every topic out there. From the increased difficulty rip-offs like Quordle, to the movie-guessing Framed, if you’re a fan of something, there is probably a casual game out there for it.
Before spoiling the answers to Connections, we wanted to provide you with the categories used in today’s game. This can allow you to score a win on your own if you’ve only got a few matches left.
If you’ve ever enjoyed Kurtis Conner’s Very Really Good podcast then two of today’s yellow words should stand out right away. VERY and REALLY were the starters for us and it took a couple of misses to finally score this category in second place for the day.
Despite being huge Disney fans we only scored the green category in third place today. GOOFY and DAISY gave it away once there were only eight words left and it wasn’t long before we realized HAPPY and LADY were also a perfect fit. HAPPY, PRETTY, and SHINY all did the duty of messing with us today and we must commend the Connections editor on that distraction.
The blue words were the first for us to score today as most of them stood out quite nicely. TIFFANY blue is something we’d never heard of but looks very much like an aquamarine. It’s as if they just slightly tweak the contrast and decide it’s a new color with a new name. We’re just making up words at this point.
Let’s play a different game, I’ve put together an image of every blue color mentioned in today’s category. Can guess which is which? Remember, we’re working with BABY, NAVY, TIFFANY, and SKY.
The aforementioned TIFFANY blue is first in line here, that seems like a simple one since it’s just aquamarine. NAVY seems like the most obvious as it’s the darkest and sitting third from the left. But there is no way anyone can just tell the difference between SKY and BABY. SKY is sitting second and BABY is at the end. Do you see it now?
No, you don’t, because I lied, BABY is second and SKY is the last one at the end. They look the same, why are we making these things so complicated?
Purple was our final category of the day and the ‘leftover’ words. This is a very clever category and one we didn’t pick up on, even when they were the only words left. That is the fun of Connections though, you don’t need to get them all to win.
