Stardew Valley 1.6 Is Hiding An Extremely OP Item To Make Big Money

Stardew Valley is littered with various revenue streams but players wanting to make stacks of cash as easily as possible should pay attention to a recent discovery by a very talented player. It’s no secret that fishing is one of the best ways to generate money in ConcernedApe’s farming RPG but those who want to stretch their catches even further should look into turning them into some delectable dishes. Much like any other ingredient in the game, turning it from its basic state into a tasty meal is always recommended especially after the 1.6 Update.

Posting to YouTube, content creator Aiming4Gaming broke down how the Fish Smoker is almost overpowered in how useful it can be for any farmer who wants to gain experience and money at the same time.

They explain that the device is able to smoke any caught fish, doubling its price, while retaining its quality level and also transforming it into an artisanal good, meaning they’ll sell for a significantly higher price. Additionally, this process provides experiences in Fisher, Angler, and Artisan, meaning it’s a quick way to level up some of the most profitable skills in Stardew Valley.

While the ability to produce expensive products while leveling up three different skills may already seem too good to be true, Aiming4Gaming further explains an additional benefit to the Fish Smoker: Resource investment. Smoking any fish only requires a single coal and takes just 50 in-game minutes, which equates to roughly 35 seconds in real life. Building a whole factory of Fish Smokers and keeping them constantly refilled will result in an immense amount of cash, especially since the cost of investment when buying the machine’s recipe from Willy is just 10,000 gold.

The Fish Smoker is just one of several new items added in Stardew Valley‘s massive 1.6 Update but it certainly seems to be the most impactful in terms of profits. Players have also been experimenting with the Mushroom Log, Dehydrator, and Mini-Forge but none of them are quite as efficient when it comes to investing time and money. Having said that, it’s still early days in the patch’s lifecycle so new strategies may emerge in the coming weeks.

Stardew Valley is the game that just can’t be stopped as the 1.6 Update effectively turned the title into a brand new experience. Aside from the aforementioned items, the patch also added several festivals for players to enjoy, a traveling bookshop that sells tomes to boost various skills, a plethora of new dialogue, and hundreds of additional furniture. It even added a secret Terraria Easter egg that allows players to obtain the Meowmere, a powerful sword ripped through the multiverse.
