“It Sounds Like A F—ing Nightmare”: Twilight Star Kristen Stewart Reveals Her One Condition To Join Marvel
Kristen Stewart has revealed what is the only way she would be convinced to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Twilight franchise has led to a few superhero castings, with the biggest of them being Robert Pattinson getting to lead The Batman universe as Bruce Wayne. As the other main star of the popular saga, Stewart could have a great future in upcoming Marvel movies or DC projects if she wanted to, and the actress has now revealed her stance on joining the MCU.
On the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Stewart said she would do a Marvel movie if Greta Gerwig was the director. The actress started with some harsh words for the MCU, as Stewart responded to a question about whether she would do Marvel movies by saying, “It sounds like a f-cking nightmare, actually.” However, the possible involvement of Barbie director Gerwig would be enough to get her onboard the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. While Stewart’s new comments are not exactly favorable to her joining the MCU, the actress previously spoke about the franchise in a more positive light. In 2015, Stewart said she loved watching Marvel movies. The actress even went as far as mentioning what superhero franchise within the MCU she would want to join, revealing she would be part of the Captain America movies.
Stewart has shown her talents in a range of indie movies over the years, and with her having led a successful franchise in Twilight, the actress would be a great MCU addition. With the X-Men coming to the MCU in the not-so-distant future, there are a couple of mutants that Stewart would be a good fit for. Polaris, Magneto’s daughter, is one of them. Stewart has the dramatic chops for the character’s story and the ability to get Polaris’ ironic remarks right.
Stewart has also shown in a number of roles that she has the rebel spirit for a specific member of the X-Men. The actress would be great as Rogue, making the character’s connection to her powers tragic and making good on her story of isolation and slowly opening up to others after joining the X-Men. Another possible character for her is Mystique. If Gerwig directs an MCU project in the future, then maybe Kristen Stewart will get the chance to join Pattinson in the Twilight stars turned superheroes department.
