The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, has called on citizens of the state to use the Easter period for sober reflections and offer prayers for peace, progress, and unity in the state.
The Commissioner also extended the warm greetings of the Command to the Christian faithful as they celebrate Easter across the state.
In a bid to guarantee a peaceful and incident-free Easter celebration, the CP directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical commanders to intensify visibility patrols and secure highways across the state.
Furthermore, the Command has deployed sufficient operational resources and employed various intelligence strategies to preempt any potential threats to public safety during this festive period.
The CP also urged citizens to remain vigilant and celebrate responsibly within the bounds of the law, charging parents and guardians to counsel their children against engaging in any behaviour that could disrupt the peace of the state.
While felicitating with members of the public as Christendom commemorates the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Commissioner of Police called on religious leaders, worshippers, and residents of the state to cooperate with the police and other security agencies, as adequate and comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee a hitch-free celebration.
