Kidnappers Reportedly Increase Ransom for Jowizaza’s Father to ₦1.5 Billion

Kidnappers holding Chief Sir Joseph Ezeokafor, chairman of Jezco Group and father of Nigerian social media personality Jowizaza, have reportedly increased their ransom demand from ₦700 million to ₦1.5 billion.
Ezeokafor, a businessman in his 70s, was reportedly abducted in Anambra State about a week ago while on his way to a prayer ground as part of his annual spiritual retreat.
According to reports, the kidnappers initially demanded ₦700 million after making contact with the family. The family reportedly agreed to the initial demand in the hope of securing his release, but the abductors later increased the ransom to ₦1.5 billion.
Communication between the family and the kidnappers has reportedly broken down, leaving relatives increasingly concerned about Ezeokafor’s safety.
The businessman was reportedly travelling without his usual security personnel at the time of the abduction, which may have created an opportunity for the attackers.
The family is said to be continuing efforts to restore communication and secure his safe release, while details surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
